Medical Providers, Unpaid Balances, and You

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller

It’s a miracle Ferris Bueller did not injure himself in the many stunts in his Day Off. Unfortunately, in the real world people are injured performing everyday tasks. Some injuries are minor and can be brushed off with over the counter medicines; others may require some serious medical attention.

When someone is seriously injured they typically receive care at a medical facility. They are given care and medicine by the doctors and may proceed to a rehabilitation facility. Eventually, the injury becomes a thing of the past, and life moves on.

Then, a year passes, and – out of nowhere – they receive a document from the medical facility demanding payment. They may feel annoyed and angry, “I swear I paid this off months ago, now they want more money?” They may also feel confused, “Did I really miss a payment?”

The truth is, a number of situations might have happened. The facility may have miscalculated their balance; the person may have accidentally missed a payment; or, quite drastically, someone may have stolen their identity.

The Odom Law Firm is a team experienced with each one of these scenarios. If you find yourself with a letter from a medical facility demanding payment give us a call. Life moves pretty fast, and we are here to help.
