Branson Duck Boat Investigation Ongoing
Investigators should soon have more answers regarding the details of the duck boat tragedy that took place last week in Branson, Missouri. The duck boat capsized last Thursday, July 19, amidst a storm bolstering strong winds and has been resting at the bottom of Table Rock Lake. The victims of this horrific incident ranged in age from 1 to76 years old, authorities said.
The sunken vessel was surfaced on Monday by the Coast Guard and taken to a boat facility for further investigation by state investigators and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Investigators will be looking into all aspects of the incident including weather conditions, life jackets, the vessel itself, and the actions taken by the boat crew, officials said.
State investigators are conducting an investigation as to whether or not any criminal acts were committed in the incident. The NTSB is also currently investigating the sinking, however, the completion of the investigation could take up to a year.
