Mesothelioma

Getting the Results You Deserve

Being diagnosed with mesothelioma, a relatively rare form of cancer linked to asbestos exposure, is devastating for both the patient and his or her entire family. In this situation, you have the right to question why you were not warned about the dangers of asbestos. You also have the right to seek compensation for you and your family.

At the Odom Law Firm, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, we represent people throughout the country who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma. Mesothelioma cases are commonly handled by out-of-state law firms whose representation is done solely over the phone or by letters exchanged with clients. The Odom Law Firm is different.

In fact, we are one of the only firms in the state handling mesothelioma cases. We meet with clients in person, giving them the personal attention and support they deserve. If you are facing the shock and devastation of a cancer diagnosis, you need to feel confident that your best interests are protected, your medical bills are paid and your family will be financially secure in the future. We are here to help. Using our experience and a nationwide co-counsel network, our lawyers will vigorously fight for you.

What is Mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is a rare cancer, associated with asbestos, that affects the lining of the lungs or abdominal cavity. Many of our clients are employees, retired employees or spouses of employees who were exposed to asbestos when working as:

  • Pipe fitters
  • Insulators
  • Carpenters
  • Auto brake workers
  • Construction workers
  • Plumbers
  • Industrial workers, including paper mills and refineries

Since 1986, we have helped many clients and their families pursue fair compensation for mesothelioma. If you have been diagnosed with this cancer, contact our office to meet with one of our skilled lawyers.

Recognize the Symptoms

Mesothelioma symptoms, although serious, are common and nonspecific. In many cases, early signs of the cancer may be dismissed. Symptoms include:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Coughing
  • Tiredness
  • Perspiration
  • Hoarseness
  • Pain in the chest or ribs

Although these symptoms can be indicative of a wide range of illnesses, they should be taken seriously. If you have several of the signs and have ever been exposed to asbestos, through work or a family member who worked around the material, you should see a doctor immediately. Since it can take years and even decades for mesothelioma to develop, you must be vigilant.
